I awoke to a little voice saying “GiGi, get up. It’s time to see if Santa came.”
I quickly got out of bed, and made a stop in the bathroom while Michael went on to his parent’s room and said the same thing. Tony, my 15 month old grandson was still asleep.
We all entered the living room behind Michael and watched as he discovered the items left by Santa.
“Santa ate some of the cookies and even drank some of the milk!” Michael informed us.
After he inspected the presents for himself and Tony, Mom handed him two wrapped presents and told him they were from Santa.
The joy on his face made my day as he opened the first box and shouted “Santa did it! He heard me! I got ‘Opt-a-Miss-A Prima’!” Michael then opened the second box . . “AND, Bumble Bee!”
Pretty soon, Tony began to make some noise and Dad went to get him. He walked into the living room to discover his presents with his Big Brother’s help. Tony would look at the mini quad runner (a ride on car) and then look at Mom and Dad with a huge smile. Big Brother, Michael got on the car to show him how it’s done.
Children and Christmas, can’t beat it.
A very sweet Christmas story. Kids and Christmas. You just can’t miss. Great story.
Great reminder of the magic we share through stories and actually being there! Love it!
